What is PaTHway?

The PaTHway Trial is evaluating a trial drug called TransCon PTH – a potential hormone replacement therapy for hypoparathyroidism. TransCon PTH is taken through a daily injection given underneath the skin with a pre-filled injection pen. The goal is to see how TransCon PTH effects calcium levels in the blood, and if it reduces the amount of vitamin D and calcium supplements needed by participants.

Who is the trial for?

You may qualify to participate in this clinical trial if you are 18 years of age or older and:

  • Have been diagnosed with postsurgical chronic hypoparathyroidism, or autoimmune, genetic, or idiopathic hypoparathyroidism for at least 26 weeks
  • Are currently taking vitamin D and calcium supplements
  • Are able to perform daily self-injections of the trial drug using a pre-filled injection pen
  • Are willing and able to attend the visits and have all of the required tests performed during your 3.5 years of participation

What will happen during the trial?

The clinical trial will last up to 3.5 years and your participation will be divided into two parts:

  • Part 1 (26 Weeks): You will be randomly assigned to receive either the trial drug or placebo
  • Part 2 (3 Years): You will receive the active trial drug

Is there a fee to participate?

All qualified participants will receive the following at no cost:

  • The trial drug (either TransCon PTH or placebo)
  • All trial-related visits, procedures and assessments
  • Close care and monitoring by our team of medical professionals
  • Reimbursements for trial-related travel and expenses may also be available
